Bliss

It's 8:45AM and I am sitting on the verandah with a cup of tea. This is an achievement as the cup has to be transported in the little shoulder bag I use to carry the phone and the teapot is transported in stages by moving it along the floor. I am finally learning a few tricks with my crutches. I cannot begin to think what it must be like to be permanently disabled.

It's a beautiful sunny day with low humidity and breezes. I am hoping to get to the studio after a few 10AM business chores.

Calmer Moments

Yesterday I had the best day with distilled ideas for new work flowing. I had a half hour visit from my creative light. I think the ideas are strong enough to last until I can get down into the studio again.

But just to prove that life is not all good my ankle was seriously painful so I will have to avoid to much hopping today. Any studio visits will be by going down the stairs on my well cushioned derriere.

MY head is Full......Yet Again

I haven't been making much work recently as the staircase to my studio is long and steep and I can't get into the loo down there as it is a store place for my work. My mobility is still a huge issue and I have added an extra complication to my life by deciding I would like to move! So the week has been taken up with real estate negotiations. Any suggestions about removalists who specialize in crazy china collecting hopping artists with 10 years of accumulated posessions would be appreciated!

Progress (Sort Of)

Today I swapped my plaster cast for a boot two weeks after my surgery. It feels much better even though I am still no good at stairs.
I haven't done much painting and only managed to take a few weather photos but it is good to slow down occasionally. Yesterday we watched My Left Foot which seemed appropriate as, yes, I have damaged my left foot. I was humbled to see the obstacles that Christie Brown overcame and reminded that it is love, the support of friends and the opportunity to be creative that make life so wonderful.

Explanation

I have been a bit silent on the blogging front for a while as I felt weighed down by tasks and administravia and then things came to a dramatic halt last Sunday morning when I fell and broke my leg. I am now laid up or down, depending on ones point of view, for 6 weeks. Tributes and condolences are welcome.
